VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program provides free income tax assistance to individuals and households with 2009 income of $49,000 or less. Certified volunteers assist the taxpayer with the preparation of their federal, state and local income taxes. For 2010 there will be 13 VITA sites located in Dillsburg, Dover, Hanover, Red Lion, Shrewsbury and York.

The AARP Tax-Aide Program provides free income tax assistance giving preference to taxpayers age 60 and over. For 2010 there will be 13 AARP sites located in Delta, Dover, Hanover, Mt. Wolf, New Freedom, Red Lion, Spring Grove, Stewartstown and York.
