Emerging Leaders Society
The purpose of United Way of York County's Emerging Leaders Society is to create networking,
volunteering and educational opportunities for the next generation of philanthropists who are
providing financial support to our community through the annual campaign.
Our vision is to make a measurable and long lasting impact in our community by
engaging this group of individuals in United Way and our work.
Criteria:
1. ELS members are in the 21-40ish age range.
2. ELS members contribute a gift of $250 or more to UWYC's annual campaign.
Membership Benefits:
- Access to prominent community leaders.
- Specifically tailored community service and volunteer opportunities.
- Recognition in UWYC annual materials.
- Networking and educational opportunities.
- Invitations to special events.
- Eligible to enter the annual county-wide drawing.
2008 Membership Statistics:
- 195 individuals self-identified themselves as meeting the ELS criteria.
- Over 80 local companies are represented by our membership.
- Our members accounted for over $91,000 in donations to UWYC in 2008.
